Humston Machinery, Incorporated's mission is to help customers solve production problems by providing technologically advanced products at competitive prices. We back these products with our company's fifty years of experience. Our products are unique in creativity and innovation, while still maintaining high quality. At Humston, we perceive our employees as the most important asset. Through our unique products and employees, Humston hopes to continue to expand our services throughout Indiana.


History of Humston Machinery

• 1948 - Edward L. Humston launched his business career by purchasing and selling "over-runs" and "odd-lot" sizes of cardboard cartons.
  
  
• 1954 - E. L. Humston Co. added the first "full time" employee, William H. Gluesenkamp. A graduate of General Motors Institute, Bill had been a Manufacturing Engineer for Allison and Western Electric.
  
  
• 1956 - Incorporated in the state of Indiana as Humston Machinery, Inc.
  
  
• 1966 - Jerry E. Shultz joined the company. He graduated from Butler University and had been selling Plate Burning Equipment for Linde.
  
  
• 1975 - After Ed Humston's death, Bill and Jerry purchased Humston Machinery. They have instituted fully paid Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and a Profit Sharing Retirement Plan. These benefits are for all employees.
  
  
• 1990 - Jay Shultz joined the firm after graduating from Butler University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing.
  
  Jim Shultz joined the firm after graduating from Butler University and covers the Northwest part of Indiana.
  
  
• 1994 - Wm. H. Gluesenkamp retired and Jerry Shultz became 100% owner.
  
  
• 1996 - Dan Bettner joined Humston and covers the Southwest part of Indiana.
  
  
• 1997 - Humston Machinery started their own service department by hiring Doug Delph.
  
  Humston Machinery, Inc. built their new office and demonstration room.
  
  
• 2005 - Hired Scott Lovelace as Service Manager
